Card from Mary Bailey Adair to Alice Johnson family in Milwaukee, 1974
This is from an original by Lloyd Saville daughter Ann Dimit and Bernice's sent me some any of family can share with me.
How I did enjoy the evening with John! And I don't have to worry about the car - he will take over and has a deal on that I'll tell you about later. Priced it at $900 to a friend in Omaha so if I do need it this summer I can borrow it! I'm not sure about Dot & Walt's plans yet.
I have some lovely cards and letters for the family to read. John read a few but more came today! If I could jump far and fast enough, I'd see you all right now.
What are your plans? We are thinking of coming up there Xmas Day - then Linda and John go to Saunemin that day so you folks come down Sat. or Sun. How about it? Marge said she told you we would come up for a big kettle of soup!
Card from Laveta today - they got the meat package on Monday - I'll save her letter for you. This clipping from Record News must be Buelah's daughter? He remarried but children are younger than this one.
Also good letter from Edna (Ginny's mother).
Snowing fast right now - Marge won't be home to lunch - having office party. We will try some Xmas bread instead of cookies. R & N to come this evening, and we are all set to put up the tree tonight.
Please no bad storm!!
Mrs. Adams still in hospital until there is room for her at the nursery home. Ida Parker very low in hospital. Dewey Carr died - also Olin Hoffman from scooping snow at Thanksgiving time.
Dewey & Margaret at John C's over Christmas.
Margaret Adair Kruse addendum

I hope that you all have a very Mrry Christmas and Happy New Year. I mailed your mothers card to Reading is I didn't know where she would be and marked it to be forwarded. But I hope that she can be with you. We will go to my sisters in Hallowell. There will be only 5. Russell has gone to NJ to preach. Martha will be with him. Bill and Mary visited Jim in the fall so their family won't be coming to Maine. There will be no children there. Again A Happy Holiday Season

Dear Ones in Milwaukee
Well the time is going fast and Christmas will soon be here. Suppose you will go down and be with the Chicago folks. Had a nice long letter from your mother and guess there was a lot of excitement around when the kids were all home over Thanksgiving. Guess they had a lot of snow out their way. We haven't had much snow yet and nice weather most of the time. Sam was going to write you but that shortness of breath came back on him last Saturday & he hasn't been feeling very good since. So that I better finish these up. Hope he gets to feeling better as we are supposed to go to Simla, but won't go if he doesn't. I'm hoping our weather stays nice. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
Love to all,
Sam & Jessie
